Sparks Shakedown Cruise Itinerary

Sparks' shakedown cruise this summer lasted for 10 weeks leaving from Peterborough in July on the Trent Canal, south through the Thousand Islands to Clayton NY and then north via the Rideau Canal to Ottawa through 124 locks - a distance of 674 miles (1074 km) consuming only 9 gal. of diesel fuel!

The Bear Mountain 30 Hybrid Electric Launch Officially Hits the Water

Hello friends, We are launching the solar/electric fantail launch about 2:00 pm on Tuesday June 22 at the Mark Street Pier in Peterborough, Ontario. Parking is available just east of the pier on Maria Street at Roger's Cove. Please join us if you can. We expect to wet the bottom and then spend some time testing systems etc so it likely won't be all that exciting but we wanted to let you know. And if you cannot make it on such short notice, see our itineray for the summer below. Please call or email us to arrange a time when we could take you for a cruise. Here's to fair winds and happy travels!

June 22: Launch at Mark Street Pier about 2 pm (the boat hauler is picking us up just after lunch on Matchett Line - if you are in town early and want to come by please do)

June 22 - 26: Docked at Little Lake Marina, Peterborough

June 26: Attending National Canoe Day at Beavermeade Park

June 27 - July 3rd: Docked at Lakefield Marina and points north

July 22: Travel down the Trent to Belleville, Kingston and on to Clayton NY

July 29 - August 3: On display at the Antique and Classic Boat Show at the Clayton Marine Museum

August 4 - Sept. 4: Travel up the Rideau Canal to Ottawa
