Our partner Ron Frenette at Canadian Canoes is an industrious guy. He sources all the wooden components we sell at Bear Mountain, but he's also an ambitious paddler and builder. In 2013 he helped produce a 26' 6" north canoe in the style used by the early Canadian voyageurs. As you can see from the video above, the canoe's had time to develop a history of its own, having travelled the canals of Venice.
It has been extremely well-maintained, however, and now Ron is looking to sell. Specs for the north canoe are as follows:
- Length: 26' 6"
- Width at centre: 45"
- Depth at centre: 18"
- Height of ends: 48"
- Weight: 190 lbs
More details can be found in the video above. The asking price is $16,500, down from the new construction price of $24,500. Interested parties can contact Ron directly by writing to email@example.com or calling 416-543-2760.
